We are all born human - nobody is born poor, rich, ambitious, in control or politically minded. We thereby have an obligation to stay humane in the face of societal constructs. Society is a construct of the mind, it is a fiction of our collective imagination and not a reality that exist freely in nature. It is not alive and can’t hold a candle besides nature as influence in our existence. But society has become nuanced and is gradually becoming an existential threat to our ability to remain human as well as being a bane of our extinction as a species.
Consciousness - the knowledge of being, separates us as at now from other living beings and classes us as intelligent species at least in our galaxy. Consciousness breeds knowledge and knowledge drives inquisitiveness, which in itself has been the driving force for developement and with time has shaped society; the same society which without a conscious effort to regulate will drive us to extinction before any asteroid ever does.
The constant among all of our existence is our humanity something that alongside our consciousness is something we are born with once we leave our cell form shapes in our parents wombs to full fledged smiling cute faced toddlers. Human nature is expressed perfectly in the everyday life of toddlers, always honest, quick to anger, but easy to please, always eager to learn, willing to surmount challenges and undertake new obstacles. These inherent characters become submerged as we become older conditioned by society making us numb to growth and stiff to change rendering the ability for us to become brainwashed making us vulnerable, with this vulnerability turning gradually into either one of survival - turning us into cowards and sheep or authoritarian - making us fight for supremacy and control over the former. This disparity between the latter and the former drive different types of economies and governmental philosophies rendering the possibility for narcissistic supremacist drive us further towards extinction.
In our own context though however, this transformation of our humanity has led to wickedness, violence and a breakdown of the society into disparaged factions that have become so complacent that survival has become virtually the only option left for those in the majority (although limited). This calls for a new approach - a new way of doing society and it will only come about once we begin to look at our self primarily and begin living our humanity. How we react to each other, having sympathy and decency when we disagree, allowing our anger over issues drive us towards community building to solve our collective issues.
The simple solution to our must pressing problems can only be solved by “Being Human”.
