We owe it to ourselves as citizens of this great nation to be better and self reliant. In as much as we decry and rightfully so, request for facilities to help push us towards this emancipation, our own self prejudices need to be overcome and used as fuel to sling us into the path of a self reliant nation. Our need to grow as a nation has to be the objective, but our path towards that has to be born out of the individual growth that we all need to attain. Growing in the understanding of how our nation is supposed to work, emancipating ourselves from ignorance and a binding of the mind to self consciousness and a fierce determination to uphold the tenets of humanity, camaraderie and prosperity for all. A people whose knowledge of themselves; where they come from, how they got to where they are, and what it will take for them to get to where they need to be, have to be able to accept their frailties, their shortcomings; becoming numb to insults, but never in denial to add to their knowledge thus expanding their horizons and as Moses see beyond their wildest dreams.

Being able to dream comes from the intrepid recesses of the mind; therefore then let us feed our minds, and as we do, let us take it upon ourselves to present these undiluted facts to every nook and cranny of the National territory, engaging in debate and forming alliances; alliances in differences, never thinking about if you need to be right, but using democracy as a measuring rod for what is expedient and what is needed to move the nation towards a collective self reliance.

Decades ago, a promise was made, pacts where enacted and a roadmap was created - promises are however just promises if the people to whom these promises were made are not taking it upon themselves to attain them. Let us be open, keeping aside ego and pride of understanding and becoming meek, humble and teachable to new and old ideas because doing the same thing and expecting different results has always been the downfall of mighty empires and nations.

Let’s take a trip through our constitution then, let’s read together the preamble, let us first of all know what is freely given to us - understand how much power we as the people have and see how together, we can use that power to build our own vision of the land of promise.

From here-on in then let’s debate, let us make campaigns, let us question and expect answers from our leaders within the framework of the law; making us an active part of the day to day running of our nation - only then can we become a self determined people, a country of people aligned towards one purpose, and whatever that purpose is, will be the will of the people of this great nation…
